Life At Jefferson High School

Jefferson High School also known as Jeff was your average high school I would say. It has a diversity of young people half Asians (specifically Filipino) and the other half Hispanic and African American. Like a typical high school community you would usually see each nationality grouped together with their own kind. Jeff has established small learning communities but this is ceased to have limited students from interacting with each other. At lunch time and during breaks usually 1 of 3 securities’s would be guarding the main entrance to the school allowing students barely entering the campus in only with a written note signed by guardian and students leaving the campus need to have a written note from the office. The other 2 security's are usually mingling with students in front of the gym. I believe for one of my years attending Jeff I was placed in a class that was taught by substitutes for most of the year. One of the substitute's actually got used to our class and knew all of the students by name. Jeff has grown a reputation of being “ghetto” and sending many students to Thorton/Wilderness a continuation school a couple blocks away. Despite the stero types Jeff is what you make it. It is your decision to put in effort and lean.
